WHAT WE DID:
Over the past year, DLC has been exploring a more personal creative outlet—designing, illustrating, and self-publishing journals for people to write in. So far, I’ve created five unique titles: two for my wife Ana Corella’s wellness and yoga business, and three in collaboration with Mexican artist Gloria Muriel. Each project has been an opportunity to blend traditional graphic design with hand-drawn illustrations and AI-generated artwork, shaping tactile, expressive objects meant to inspire reflection and creativity.

Ana’s journals, including Gratitude and Respira, were designed specifically for her yoga retreats in India and Oaxaca, merging thoughtful design with personal touches like photos from her studio and journaling cues tailored to her community. The Gloria Muriel series was a deep dive into her sketchbook archives—over 500 drawings—which I curated and reinterpreted into a cohesive, three-volume collection, integrating her signature imagery with bilingual quotes and plenty of space to write. Each of these journals is a small labor of love—part art object, part personal tool—and I’m excited to keep evolving this side of my creative practice.
